Hi, I’m Britton Kinnard
I live on Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, TN, just a short commute from Nashville, where I wake up each day feeling incredibly fortunate to have the lake as my backyard. The lake is my playground, my tonic, and the reason I founded Home & Lake—to share that joy with others by guiding them through the unique considerations of lake home real estate. Whether you’re selling or seeking a lakeside property, or a home nestled in one of the nearby communities, I’m here to help you make that dream a reality.
After spending 18 years in Nashville and the last two in Hendersonville, I’ve found my perfect balance. Here, I enjoy the best of both worlds: the vibrant city I’ve long called home and the peaceful waterside living of Old Hickory Lake. I’m excited to help others discover the unique beauty and benefits of lake living in Hendersonville and the surrounding communities, such as Gallatin, Old Hickory, and Mount Juliet.
Waterside roots: Although I spent most of my childhood in small-town rural Pennsylvania, I was born in Miami and returned there every summer, where I developed a love for being on the water. That time left a lasting impression, profoundly shaping my personal life and influencing my real estate career, where I now focus on helping people buy and sell lake homes and nearby properties.
As a driven individual and lifelong athlete, I followed my dream of racing bicycles in Europe after high school. The experience was transformative, teaching me discipline, resilience, and the value of hard work. After racing bikes for a few years, I returned to Pennsylvania to start college at Penn State University, but I later completed my business degree at Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN, outside Nashville, on a cycling scholarship. There, I went on to earn an MBA and had the opportunity to coach one of the country’s top collegiate cycling programs. These experiences gave me invaluable skills that I continue to apply in my life and real estate career.
My enthusiasm for real estate and home design began early. My summers in Miami were not just fun on the water; they also included working for my dad’s construction company. While I didn’t always appreciate tearing off terracotta roofs in the Miami heat, being surrounded by the stunning architecture of Coral Gables and South Beach, along with my father’s commitment to sustainable, energy-efficient home building—well before it became mainstream—instilled in me a deep appreciation for quality construction, architecture, and home design.
Homes, though, are about more than just design, and for me, real estate is more than a career; it’s a passion that combines my entrepreneurial spirit, business expertise, and love for homes. More importantly, it’s a platform where I can guide and support people in one of the most significant investments they’ll ever make—the home buying and selling process.
After almost two decades in Nashville and now living in the charming lake community of Hendersonville, I’ve found the perfect blend of being close to the city while enjoying peaceful lakeside living. I look forward to helping others discover the beauty of lake living in this wonderful community and the surrounding areas on Old Hickory Lake.
